]]> If your articles from Abun aren’t auto-publishing to WordPress, don’t worry, we’ve got you. This issue usually happens due to WordPress settings, security plugins, or server rules blocking API requests. Below, we’ve outlined common reasons why publishing may fail and how to fix them.

1. Check Your WordPress Permalink Structure

Incorrect permalink settings can prevent Abun from communicating with WordPress.

How to Fix:

  1. Go to your WordPress Admin Dashboard
  2. Click on Settings → Permalinks
  3. Select Post Name as the structure
  4. Save changes

This improves API compatibility and even helps with Google rankings.

2. Verify WordPress User Authorization

Your WordPress application password may have expired or been removed, blocking Abun’s access.

How to Fix:

  1. Go to Users → Profile in WordPress
  2. Scroll down to the Application Passwords section
  3. Look for “Abun” in the list
  4. If it’s missing, reconnect WordPress with Abun

3. Check Cloudflare Settings (If You Use Cloudflare)

Cloudflare’s security features might be blocking Abun’s API requests.

How to Fix:

  1. Whitelist Abun’s IPs in Cloudflare
  2. Log in to your Cloudflare Dashboard
  3. Go to Firewall → Tools
  4. Under IP Access Rules, add these IPs to the Allowlist:
    • 50.116.30.120
    • 45.33.6.18
    • 45.33.6.112
  5. Save changes
  6. Disable Bot Fight Mode
  7. Go to Security → Bots
  8. Turn OFF Bot Fight Mode

4. Disable Security Plugins Blocking API Requests

Some security plugins interfere with auto-publishing.

How to Fix:

  • WordFence → Go to settings and ensure “Disable Application Passwords” is OFF
  • Really Simple SSL → Under Settings > Hardening > Basic, turn OFF “Disable user enumeration”
  • LiteSpeed Cache → Remove restrictions on /wp-json endpoints

If publishing still fails, try temporarily disabling security plugins one by one to find the culprit.

5. Check If XML-RPC Is Blocked

XML-RPC is a WordPress feature that some hosts or security plugins disable, preventing API connections.

How to Check:

  1. Open your browser and visit: https://yourwebsite.com/xmlrpc.php
  2. If you see “XML-RPC server accepts requests”, XML-RPC is enabled.
  3. If you get a 403 Forbidden or 404 Not Found error, XML-RPC is blocked.

How to Fix:

  • If you use WordFence, iThemes Security, or Disable XML-RPC plugins, check their settings and enable XML-RPC.
  • If your hosting provider is blocking it, contact their support and ask them to enable XML-RPC access.
